Although we encourage year round awareness, the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which starts October 1st, strides and remains dedicated to educating, making aware and empowering women about breast cancer.
Their goal involves educating and informing women to take control of their breast health and ways in which to do so. Preventing, finding, diagnosing and treating breast cancer are all important stages that should not be overlooked in a woman’s life. Stressed is the importance of regular self-breast exams; these allow women to take action at home. By checking your breasts regularly you are often able to catch something early on. Other important aspects in staying aware and on top of breast cancer are regular visits and yearly mammograms. If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, staying on top of treatments and knowing the facts about breast cancer is vital.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month brings awareness, but what can you do to not only stay aware of everything and reduce the risk? Treat yourself as a patient, even before a diagnosis! Treatment for breast cancer or simply checking for breast cancer needs to cater to the patient’s needs. Ideally, a breast cancer treatment center that offers everything from preventing to treating is what a patient needs. Going one place for your mammograms to treatment and reconstructive surgery makes it convenient to stay on top of the stages Breast Cancer Awareness Month so highly stresses.
Preventing, finding, diagnosing and treating are all key and important stages of awareness that should not be overlooked. Staying educated and aware, visiting a breast cancer center, and knowing the facts of breast cancer help you prevent, catch, or fight the battle.
